I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother, who is sometimes known as a seamstress, cook, maid, bookkeeper, homeschool mom, wedding planner, organizer and friend.
I grew up all over the Southeastern United States and currently reside in the mountains of North Carolina with my husband, three daughters and four loud, but lovable beagles. (Outside…I love them outside, not inside).
I have always enjoyed reading children’s literature with my girls. A few years ago the Lord laid the story of I Have a Brother – My Brother is in Heaven on my heart. I thought it was a great idea…someone else should do it!
But the Lord wouldn’t let me forget this idea, so in June 2016, I should have a real live book that I pray will minister to families who have lost a baby or had a miscarriage.
As I was finishing, I Have a Brother, the Lord planted another idea in my head – a devotion book for mothers. After our son, Daniel, died at two days old, I had a hard time reading the promises of God and process what had just happened to me. They did not seem to connect.
I am in the process of writing a 30 day devotion book for grieving moms. I am posting these devotions on this blog as well as book updates and other randomness from our family life.
If I learned one thing from Daniel’s short life, it is to look for and find God at work in the every aspect of our lives. God is indeed good…but sometimes life is pretty hard. That’s why I need Him to carry me each and every day.
And I pray that He is carrying you, too. God loves you and I hope what I write will point you to Him.
“Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever.” Psalm 28:9
